Team captain Samuel Sánchez will headline Euskaltel's charge in the fast-approaching Tirreno-Adriatico as he bids to further both his form and his knowledge of racing in the country of his biggest goal this year: the Giro d'Italia.
'The race of the two seas' kicks off on March 6, and includes a team time trial, an individual race against the clock and the customary long, lumpy days in the saddle.
Sánchez will spearhead the team to be directed by Gorka Gerrikagoitia, and will be accompanied by Egoi Martínez, Miguel Mínguez, Jorge Azanza, Ricardo García, Garikoitz Bravo, Ioannis Tamouridis and Robert Vrecer.
Despite aiming to get a feel for Italian roads before the big rendezvous in May, Euskaltel will not take part in the coming weekend's Strade Bianche-Roma Maxima doubleheader.
