Samu Sánchez has revealed his goals for the season in an interview today. Not surprisingly, Samu will aim for the spring classics, namely Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and the Vuelta a España. His calendar will be quite similar to last season, when he won two stages of the Vuelta al Pais Vasco, a stage in the Vuelta a Asturias, the Zuri Metzgete and a stage and 7th overall in the Vuelta a España. As a testament to his form all year long, he also finished an amazing 2nd in the Pro Tour standings behind compatriot Alejandro Valverde. Samu`s main aim will be the podium in the Vuelta. After placing 11th and 7th the last two years, he`ll be hoping to go even better this time around. When asked if he would go for the Pro Tour overall win, he said that he`d consider that after the spring classics. The Tour de France will not be on his calendar this year either. He said that he feel it`s possible to win the Tour in a couple of years, but that he want to prove himself in the Vuelta first.
