Samu and Aitor comments

After today`s stage of the Vuelta al País Vasco, Samu Sánchez and Aitor Hernández spoke to www.fundacioneuskadi.com. Here`s what Samu had to say: "It was a difficult stage. We started out with sun, but ended up with rain, and you notice the difference for sure. I felt well, not like I did on Saturday. A stage of 139 km with 9 categorized climbs demands a huge effort. I went into the last climb feeling well. I tried to get away, but they didn`t give me a millimetre. At the decisive moment I got a little boxed in, and there wasn`t much I could do. I had to paly catch-up, but with riders like Marchante, Gil and Valverde, that`s not an easy task. To loose time is always a shame, but there`s many stages left to make that up. It`s necessary to remain optimistic". This is what breakaway-hero Aitor said: "To be able to wear the mountain classification jersey is brilliant for me. It`s the first jersey I`ll get to wear as a pro, so it boosts my moral. We (the break) left early, and we collaborated well. I know these roads really well, I`m training here almost every day, and there were a lot of familiar faces by the roadside today, so that helped me a lot. It`s annoying that Lastras got away. He took a lot of risks in the curves, so I wasn`t able to follow him. I`m not feeling sorry for myself, and the only thing I think about for tomorrow`s stage is to be useful for the team and to do my job".
