Iturria and Barbero keep shining
Two of Equipo Euskadi's most promising riders, Mikel Iturria and Carlos Barbero, once again showed why they're so highly regarded this weekend.
Barbero, fresh off a stage win at the Ronde de l'Isard, represented his country at the Ville de Sanguenay, grabbing fourth on the concluding stage on Sunday.
Iturria, seventh overall in Isard, continued his fine progression by also claiming a fourth place, this time on the last stage of the Ronde de l'Oise.
While DS Arberas wasn't too pleased with his charges' work in the latter race, he did take time out to praise young Iturria.
"It's a pleasure to watch Iturria confirm the qualities he showed in l'Isard", he told the Fundación Euskadi's website. "He's only 21 years old, meaning he's got a lot of room for improvement still".
Next up for Euskadi is the Boucles de la Mayenne commencing this Thursday.
