González sprints to third in Durana

Alain González continued his upward trajectory by grabbing third place for Naturgas Energía in today's Trofeo Eusebio Vélez, the fifth race of the Euskaldun-series.

González has numerous top ten placings to his name already this season, but was never really close to the win today as Víctor De la Parte, formerly of Caja Rural but now without a team, went on a flyer with a massive 80 kilometres left to ride. The 25-year-old was not to be seen again and finished 43 seconds ahead of a trio made up of Krzysztof Tracz, González and Bidelan's Julen Mitxelena. Victor Etxeberria completed a good day for the team with sixth place a further handful of seconds back.
