Euskaltel no-show in Amstel

Euskaltel put on their traditional weak performance in the Amstel Gold race today. None of the riders managed to get into any breaks or being up there when the going got tough. Egoi was the best of the guys with a 30th place, while JJ was 43rd, Iñaki 46th, Mikel 51st and Iván 69th. Aitor Galdós and Alan didn't complete the race. Euskaltel's website blamed the poor performance on fatigue accumulated driving all the way from Spain yesterday. Obviously that's a hinderence, but so too did a lot of the other teams. Let's hope for a better showing on wednesday.
