Larrazabal to RadioShack-Nissan

Josu Larrazabal, the current trainer for all Fundación Euskadi teams and assistant directeur sportif with Euskaltel-Euskadi, will be leaving at year's end to join up with the technical squad of RadioShack-Nissan, as reported by Biciciclismo. The 30 year old Larrzabal reportedly rejected offers from Euskaltel DS Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano and Astana before accepting the position with Johan Bruyneel's side, where he will be joining fellow Basque compatriots Markel Irizar and Haimar Zubeldia.

Hailing from Orozko, Vizcaya, Larrazabal began working with Miguel Madariaga and Fundación Euskadi in 2006 after graduating with a degree in Physical Activity and Sport from Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. He joined Euskaltel-Euskadi in 2007 as a trainer and in 2009, he also took on the role of assistant directeur sportif along with his training duties. In his wake, Alex Diaz will now be combining training and directing roles for the coming 2013 season.
