Come back home Egoi!

Following news that the Discovery Channel team will cease to exist come the end of the season, I, and suspect I'm not the only one, would like to see Egoi Martínez back at Euskaltel. Egoi left the team after the 2005 season came to a close, and has enjoyed success with the American outfit. Among his achievements with the American team is a stage-win in the Vuelta a España last year, a 12th place overall and the mountains jersey in the same race the same year. The power-house has been an intergral part of the team since joining. He also showcased his big talent with Euskaltel before leaving, but since he's only 29, I would love to see him back. He's simply a class-act...

Discovery Channel will probably survive with another sponsor(IKEA or a chinese company) but even if that team continues... Egoi has been linked with Euskaltel many times during the season

oh wait, i've just seen that bruyneel has said they won't continue. Incredible... I thought it was just Discovery not continuing sponsorship

It's sad because they really had a great team. It will be fun to see what people like Contador and Leipheimer are going to do

Yeah, guess Contador will join the cheaters at Caisse. I can see Levi joining a team like Slipstream or, even, his old team Gerolsteiner.

Really sad that they are shutting down, one of the greatest teams during the last 20-30 years, all the way back to 7-eleven in the 80's...

leipheimer will go to saunier

really? Where did you read that?

just my guess...

That doesn't sound to unrealistic. After all, Saunier will be without Simoni and probably Iban as well for next year, so they need a GC rider for sure.
