Samu discards Vuelta appearance
Samu has as expected decided not to line up in the Vuelta later this season, reports Euskaltel's website. The Tour King of the Mountains will instead focus on gathering vital points towards the UCI's WorldTour classification at events like the two one-dayers in Canada and in San Sebastián this coming Saturday.

One of these days they need to have Samu, Anton, Nieve, Gorka, Amets, and Martinez all on the same team with 3 other strong guys to control the pace.
They need a fresh team, this Vuelta has some brutal stages, anyone with the TdF in thier legs is going to get burned off pretty quickly.
I have always like the plan, splitting Anton and Samu....it seems to have worked so far.
azanca, I agree I'd love to see a super strong team but which tour would you send them to? The grand tours are getting harder and harder, I don't think anyone can ride more than one at thier best these days.
It def. would be tough. Or at least try it at the Dauphine one year or something. Leopard Trek has done it pretty well this past year in my opinion.
I think you can ride a good Giro and a good Vuelta since they are 3.5 months apart.
Mouthwatering prospect for sure seeing Samu, Anton, Nieve, Txurruka, Castroviejo, Martínez, Verdugo and co. on the same team. With Euskaltel's comparatively small roster, both in terms of quantity and depth, I doubt it's ever going to happen though.
