Igor targets Vuelta
Igor is hoping to rediscover his old self this year after an inury-plagued 2009 season. Speaking to Gara yesterday, the mercurial climber said he'll lead the team in the Vuelta with a view towards a stage-win and possible a place on the overall podium. But first though he'll aim to do well in the Klasika Amorebieta, the GP Induraín, the Vuelta a Castilla y León and in the Volta a Catalunya in particular, before his first part of the season comes to a close with the Tour de Romandie. Contrary to what I earlier reported, País Vasco doesn't figure in his plans this year. My bad. He'll get his season underway with the Mallorca Challenge in a few days' time.
