Romain on the attack in Haut Var

Romain was one of the main protagonists on today's first stage of the Tour de Haut Var. The youngster made it into the break of the day and fought to grab hold of the mountains jersey. He fell just short though, trailing Leonardo Duque by 7 points going into the final stage. The break was of course reeled in, and the stage was set for an uphill sprint to the finish-line. Nocentini prevailed, unsurprisingly, with Aitor Hernández showing good form to claim 12th, just 6 seconds back. Iván, Alán and Aitor Galdós all came in 13 seconds back, while Gorka and Jonathan ended up in 62nd and 73rd place respectively, both 23 seconds down. Romain ended up a full 9:18 in arrears, but can nonetheless be happy with his day out. Sergio sadly had to cut his participation in the race short due to stomach problems.
