Serebryakov and co. show up at Scheldeprijs

Russian recruit Alexandre Serebryakov showed the first signs of life since joining the team in Wednesday's sprinter-friendly Scheldeprijs.

Granted, 22nd in a Belgian semi-classic is no big success, but it's a whole lot better than what the team has succeeded in conjuring up in the preceding races on the cobbles.

Joining Serebryakov in the top 30 was Ricardo García and Ioannis Tamouridis, offering hope Euskaltel's Classics department might finally be starting to fire ahead of the biggest race of them all this weekend: Paris-Roubaix.

Results (full results here):
  • (1, Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano), 4:41:00)
  • 22, Alexandre Serebryakov, s.t.
  • 24, Ricardo García, s.t.
