Vuelta line-up revealed
Euskaltel will field a mix of youth and experience in the Vuelta a España commencing this Saturday. Igor Antón will as anticipated headline the team.
The team's website reports that the following nine will represent the team in the last Grand Tour of 2012: Igor Antón, Mikel Astarloza, Mikel Landa, Juan José Oroz, Rubén Pérez, Romain Sicard, Amets Txurruka, Iván Velasco and Gorka Verdugo.
Alan Pérez, Miguel Minguez and Pierre Cazaux have been listed as reserves.
Antón will naturally be the team's GC candidate, but downplayed expectations recently by saying he'll be more than pleased with a top three overall. Mikel Landa and Romain Sicard will get their GT debuts, while the remaining six are proven Vuelta, and Grand Tours in general for that matter, performers.
Pérez, Astarloza, Txurruka and Verdugo all took part in the Tour de France, but the latter three all pulled out with injuries. Oroz and Velasco, as well as Txurruka, competed at the Giro d'Italia back in May. The Vuelta is Antón's first and only three-week race of the season.
The race kicks off in Pamplona, Navarra, on Saturday with the dreaded team time trial. Check out the provisional star list and course details here.

Strong team... I would have chosen Minguez and Alan Perez above Oroz and Ruben, because first ones are in good shape now and the two last ones have dissappointed this year and allready had a chance to ride a big race this year. We'll see...
