New Basque team?

Miguel Madariaga, head of the Fundación Ciclista Euskadi, yesterday told the press about his plans for starting up a Basque outfit who will be a Professional Continental team. Madariaga said that the team might become a reality as soon as in 2008, but the team will not be all-Basque like Euskaltel. The team will include riders from everywhere, but will be registered as a Basque team. " I feel that a another equipment in Euskadi in needed", he said, "and I feel that another Continental team is needed in Spain". The eventual team will have no effect on Orbea, Euskaltel`s feeder team.
