Piti ban causes confusion

Now that Alejandro 'Piti' Valverde finally has been handed a world-wide ban from racing, Euskaltel might just become even more successful. Valverde beat Samu to the Vuelta a España crown last year, as you all know, and he so annoyingly pipped Igor to the line on Romandie's concluding stage this year. If I've got it right, it seems he won't be stripped of his wins dating back to before January 1 this year, meaning he'll keep hold of his Vuelta win. That's a disgrace I reckon, what's the logic? But anyway, it seems he at least will have to relinquish his wins this year, meaning Igor should be declared the winner of that Romandie stage. That's some consolation, but still it doesn't come close to actually winning a race there and then. What do you guys think of all this mess?

Not the way you want to win. Won't have any value for me to be honest.

Besides, I don't think Valverde doped during the last two seasons. His performances were not quite the same (in terms of explosive attacks etc) as in the years before.

You're onto something there arnout, he seems to have slowed down a tad, yes. But still good to get him out...

I am on the same side as Arnout. Ever since the year he wore the White UCI points jersey (the year he crashed out of the TDF) he has not been the same. When he attacked that year it was all over. But lately it has come from 300 meters out and not a few kilometers out. But it will be nice to have him out for a few years.
