Orbea betting on Ocampos

Standout talent Aitor Ocampos of Naturgas will get the chance to ride with Orbea later this year. Aitor has enjoyed a breakout season with several strong results throughout the year so far, and the versatile youngster will get his deserved chance to ride with the big boys in October's three-day Cinturó de L'Empordá. In a bid to aid the development of young Basque cyclists, Orbea decided at the start of the year that the best placed Basque rider overall in the Los Tres Días de Álava would get a chance to ride with the team. The Subida a Urkiola was, together with the L'Empordá, the designed prize, but, now that the Subida had to be cancelled due to economic difficulties, Aitor will have to make do with L'Empordá. He'll no doubt relish the chance to impress the Orbea chiefs and try to persuade them to give him a contract for next year.
