Nieve to stay

According to DEIA, Mikel Nieve has decided to stay with Euskaltel amid interest from Movistar and has even prolonged his contract with the team. It was reported early last week that Movistar were offering the climbing sensation a lucrative three-year deal - similar to the deal Jonathan Castroviejo is likely to accept in the near future - but the Leitza native has shown his commitment to the cause by extending his current contract 'till the end of the 2013 season.

That should be great, fantastic rider/climber. Euskaltel should really try to keep their most talented riders instead of taking riders who even are not good enough for other teams (f.e. Cazeaux from FDJ) Is it sure Castro will leave? It would be a loss but I think Castro himself should be reasanable with the negociations, he's very talented but it's not that he has allready won the tour de france... What Intxausti did last year was not really honest.

I think the signing of Cazeaux was ok, because now Sicard isn't the only French guy in the team. But I agree that they should try to hold Jonathan.

They Def. need to hold on to Jonathan. What is going on with Astarloza? Wasn't it a possibility that he would come back?

Astarloza will indeed return, but likely it won't be before the turn of the year
